MfN REGISTERED MEDIATOR · AMSTERDAM (NL/EN)

Mediation for workplace conflict.

Independent mediation between employer and employee.

A workplace conflict escalates quickly. What starts as a misunderstanding can grow into absenteeism, a formal process or departure. As an MfN registered mediator I guide employer and employee back into a constructive conversation, so you can make the agreements yourselves.

I am soft on people and hard on the problem. The outcome is put on paper: a settlement agreement, an improvement plan or another solution that fits the situation.

Situations where mediation helps.

  • — A conflict between manager and employee.
  • — Long-term absenteeism with a conflict underneath.
  • — A threatened dismissal or performance review that is stuck.
  • — Tension between colleagues or departments.
  • — A departure that needs to be shaped by mutual agreement.

My approach.

I start with a separate conversation with both parties, so each can tell their story without immediately having to refute the other. In the joint sessions I bring structure, name the pattern beneath the case and work towards agreements that both parties sign.

Mediation is often faster and cheaper than litigation. Moreover, the relationship is preserved where possible.
